Celebrity Traitors Finale Accidentally Made Available 24 Hours Prematurely Beyond the UK
Important: This article avoids spoilers related to the final episode
This concluding installment of this celebrity version of The Traitors was mistakenly made available by international distributors before its planned UK broadcast on Thursday night, as confirmed official sources.
It is understood that the finale was watched by a few hundred viewers of the streaming service Crave in Canada; they could watch it for a short period before it was taken down.
The episode being released was not a error by the producing network, and a spokesperson for the company asked those who believe they know the outcome of the show to "avoid sharing potential spoilers".
"We urge those who thinks they know the outcome of the celebrity edition to hold any information they have to themselves," the statement read.
"We ask you to refrain from posting any spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been closely watching every twist and turn of the show can enjoy the final this evening."
The Celebrity Traitors is currently the top-rated TV program of the year, with an average of 12.6m viewers over the first four episodes.
Fans of the show have been waiting to see whether deceivers Cat Burns and Alan Carr will secure the £100,000 prize for charity or whether faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed and David Olosuga will be triumphant.
A past champion of the third series of The Traitors stated that "everyone dislikes spoilers", which are "the thief of joy".
The winner mentioned he will be sitting down to view the finale this evening as it airs, with his entire family and "a bucket of popcorn".
Thursday's final episode is lengthened to 70 minutes on the main channel, with an extended edition of the companion show scheduled to broadcast on the secondary channel after the finale.
Presenter the host will be joined by the cast and the co-host as they respond to the show's outcome.
